Beautiful Baby!

I'm spending the week in St. George. I know, I'm crazy to come here in July. At the present moment it is just about 10:30pm and is 100 degrees. It never cools off in the Summer. I've come while the husband and two older boys are scout camping it in Yellow Stone. Sounds like they have had a great time. I've had fun visiting family and resting up a little. Here is a picture of my beautiful niece. I'll definitely miss hanging out with her.

Nebo Loop

For the 4th of July we decided to drive the Nebo Loop. Not only is it awesome to be in the mountains and smell the freshest air on earth, but to see the world from the top of a 9,000 plus foot mountain is amazing. We weren't even at the top. That will take a hike. The top picture is Mtn. Nebo and the destination of a future hike. 11,000 ft. Hopefully this Fall.

Never too late for a little treat.

Well because my life has been a whirlwind since the beginning of May, I'll just have to blog about things when I can. I find I have an hour or two to kill before the fireworks begin. Happy July 4th everyone.

Before you go thinkin I'm a crafty one, stop. That would be my sister, and her most awesome daughter who gave me this simple idea. Next time I make these cute cupcakes I will take pics of each simple step. But for now you just get to see the yummy results. These were created for Father's Day. If you didn't guess the bottom one is a rifle. My husband thought it was a lizard. I don't know why, I see it perfectly.:)

Limber Pine Trail

Last week we enjoyed three days at a family reunion at the top of Utah. And, at the summit of Logan canyon we did a nice easy hike. It is a one mile round trip loop. The scenery was beautiful throughout the entire hike. I'm pretty sure that is the cleanest air you can get. I love that pine scent.

Summer Day Fun

I've been a little too busy to blog lately. On this lovely day it started with, "Mom can we just get our hands muddy?" Being the seasoned Mom that I am, I knew what we were in for. And as you can see Our Summer Day fun turned into a heapin pile of mud. Hope the tomatoes survive. Actually I think the experience was worth it. Everyone should have a day or two like this one.

Track Meet

Last Spring one of my sons wanted to sign up for the city track team so I said sure. At the track meets they can choose what ever 4 events they want. Well, at one he choose the high jump and discovered that he was a natural. He kept clearing the bar higher and higher and found himself competing with the teenagers. He was 10 at the time. He even drew a crowd. It's been fun to watch him this Spring also, and even one of his brothers is trying it. It's a good thing to always try something new. You just never know, you might find your thing.

Race to Witch Mountain

Yesterday I drove the kids up to the dollar movie to see "Race to Witch Mountain". A surprise to us it was fifty cent day!!! Three bucks for all six of us. Can't beat that. The movie....well...it was fun. Typical action packed because of "The Rock". I was happy it wasn't a remake but just a twist off the old movie. Totally worth three bucks and on the big screen. Great way to relax on a rainyish Summer day.

Sunburn

We try not to make it a tradition, and usually we do pretty good, but here is the first sunburn of the Summer. Yep, it's a doozie! Hard to see, but the blisters were pretty much just one big bubble. The second day the itching started and I thought he was going to scratch his skin off. Luckily we have the internet and could google a solution. The first thing, was to take a shower, and while he did that I found a few other things that could help. On the blisters, I put some bag balm because it has vitamin E and could keep it moist. That was my own idea, so I'm not sure if the cousin that is the dermatologist will approve. Below that I just had some itch X. It worked great for that. The next day it was much better and is now just a little flaky.

Think he will learn to put something on next time? I mean with a Mom like me and the skin I have he doesn't have a chance.

I bought swim shirts this year and they seem to be working great as long as they keep them on.:)

One more picture

I had to post two more pictures of Wyoming. The dandelions were in full bloom and going crazy. They were pretty to me, but I'm sure a menace to the land owners. I wish you could see this up close.

AHHH...a moment!

Finally school has ended, the laundry is mostly caught up, groceries have been bought, and the kids and friends are out in the pool, so....I have a moment to post a little blog.

As soon as school was out we headed to BEAUTIFUL Wyoming with two other families. We stayed in Star Valley in a small older home with many empty acres surrounding. All fireworks in Wyoming are legal, so my husband and boys take advantage. A few hundred dollars, two days straight, and amazingly no one burned, the fireworks were gone. I'm pretty sure this place is boy heaven. The evening is awaited with not a lot of patience. That's when the big ones come out. This year my husband bought one called "Bling" just for me.:) It was actually my favorite. I personally enjoy the dutch oven cooking, and professionally roasted marshmellows that come with the fireworks.

So, with 4-wheelers, fireworks, hikes, great food, and good friends, ya just can't start out the Summer any better than that.
