Allergies

You may have noticed that I have not written on my blog for a week. Well, lets just say that Spring is officially in full swing and it is an understatement to say that I have hay fever. Wow, did it hit hard this week. My head is just a big blur of antihistamine heaven. Luckily today we have had some wonderful rain to calm the pollen. I may actually get some sleep tonight. I love the picture with the toilet paper. I'm totally getting me a hat like that.

Spring Break

So for Spring Break we finally decided against camping in Moab and went to St. George to do a little mountain biking. The weather was perfect. Our first trail was near the Hurricane exit called Prospector trail. The boys went the whole way while C and I started at the end and met the boys a few miles in. They said we could have made it. So, next time we will do it with them.

The second trail was the Green Valley loop. Only the boys did this because I am a fraidy cat. For instance it has sections called the "three fingers of death", and "clavical hill". Not my kind of a bike ride. Luckily they only had one wreck and no blood. Boys.

The next day we only did a little hiking up on the Dixie hill with a climb up the narrows.

What to do on a snowy day?

We took a trip to the fabric store to buy fabric to make some cute cooking aprons which will be a project for May. If they turn out we will blog about it. But, while we were there my 6 year old daughter, who had her own money, wanted to buy this Barbie fabric. She only had enough for 1/4th of a yard so when we got home this is what she wanted to make. A long pillow for her bed. These pillows are the easiest thing to make. Even my boys will make them. I think it turned out just great.

Easter Weekend

Easter weekend was fun for us. We had a wedding in St. George, so we had a good time with family. It was a quick trip but we had fun decorating cupcakes and hunting for Easter eggs hidden by grandma. You can even check out our cupcake creations on ellecupcake.blogspot.com.

Exercise

Is it already Tuesday! Wow, this week is a flyin! I'm happy to say tho, that I 've gotten in some pretty good exercise already this week. Monday was a good run with the dog. Today was a body sculpting video. I've been lifting a lot more than I ever have and I'm seeing or maybe just feeling some great results. I was thinking that the shape of my body was changing because of being, you know, a little older. And, I felt it might never be the same. Well, it won't ever be the same but at least for a little while longer exercise will do its trick and give it the little lift it needs.

I have to thank all those who dig in and exercise, because it motivates me to keep on going.

4 eggs beaten
2 - 10oz. bags strawberries

Mix together and put in loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.

Goblin Valley

If you're needing a new place to visit and like to explore, I have the perfect place for you. It is called Goblin Valley. It's pretty much boy heaven. First you have the park where all of the goblins are. This costs a Park fee to get in but is totally worth it. The park then is surrounded by some great mountains with tons of great hiking. We love camping here because it has great facilities, easy hikes, and is a little warmer climate than we live in. We usually visit Goblin Valley in the Winter or Spring.

The boys found a cave this last trip that had a huge hole in the top of it. I believe one of them climbed to the top and threw rocks down. I'm Glad I wasn't there for that. Some things a mother should never know.

Redheads

While the rest of the species is descended from apes, redheads are descended from cats." Mark Twain

Not so sure I want to be descended from either. I thought we were created in God's image.

Eagle Court of Honor

Saturday night was the big night. G was awarded his eagle medalian at his court of honor. It was a nice program with a slide show about him from me. And, as a side show a real eagle was brought in. That always makes it fun for everyone who took time out of their busy lives to come and honor the boys. There are so many people who are responsible for an event like this. A dedicated scout leader who was there while Dad was in Afghanistan is definitely to be thanked. I'm not sure there are words to express to someone who would volunteer their time to help with such a thing as this. There were many campouts(rain, snow, or heat!) and a lot of Saturday's dedicated to pow wows. And, I'm so grateful to G for being such a outstanding young man. I love him so much.
